The tours included an experience with the NASA space shuttle Enterprise and the Soyuz TMA-6 space capsule. After, families gathered in the Great Hall to listen to what a Sailor’s life was like aboard this resilient aircraft carrier that served in World War II, the Vietnam War, and the Cold War directly from a veteran that served on the Intrepid.

The day started at 10:30am, where military children and their families came aboard the fascinating floating museum docked at Pier 86 in New York City. Veterans Rebuilding Life volunteers, Damia December and Xeniaya Zamora, assisted in the guided tours as the military families were able to get up close to an incredible array of aircraft on the deck of the Intrepid.
