FRONTLINE SUPPORT

Marine Corps Veteran and FDNY first responder: Christian Zamora, speaks about his role as an Emergency Medical Technician, at the epicenter of the COVID-19 Pandemic in New York City.

VRL volunteers delivered PPE to essential workers in-need 7 days a week.

Helping families facing hardship in quarantine

VRL volunteers mobilized to deliver healthy meals to local families suffering hardships in quarantine. VRL collaborated with local organizations including Hello Fresh, who donated food supplies, packaged by volunteers from the Division of Veteran Services.

VRL transported the donated meals to the Salvation Army Astoria Corps, who distributed them to local families in need. Each meal contains fresh ingredients, organic produce. The humanitarian initiative is part of the ongoing mission VRL feeds NYC.

Supplying PPE to essential workers

In-spite of Government efforts, there continues to be massive shortage of PPE for essential personnel. Non-medical, essential personnel report having limited access to PPE, including postal workers, delivery drivers and grocery clerks. In response to this crucial need, Veterans Rebuilding Life partnered with 3D Brooklyn a local design studio focused on 3D printing technology, to develop and deliver medical face shields to essential workers on the frontline, including:

WHO WE ARE

Veterans Rebuilding Life is a registered nonprofit focused on providing support services to veterans and children that were harmed in the crossfire of war. WHAT WE DO

VRL provides evidence based, holistic solutions through: Project 360º. The program is derived from empirical analysis of the combat experiences shared by veterans suffering from chronic PTSD. This data established the basis for extensive clinical research on the efficacy of holistic integration as an effective treatment alternative for PTSD.

Project 360º participants are paired with a fellow vet and mentor who is trained to implement holistic treatment modalities. This unique combination of military experience and professional training, allows participants to establish trust with their mentor, so together, they can set tangible goals, and achieve measurable outcomes.
