YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
June 29, 2026 | Howard Beach, NY
Early Saturday morning on June 27, members of Veterans Rebuilding Life attended the youth flag football tryouts held in Charles Park, located in Howard Beach, NY. In partnership with Riptide Athletics, VRL was honored to award two deserving children from the local community with a $5,000 scholarship, during the second inaugural Youth Athletic Scholarship program, a grass-roots initiative developed by Marine Corps veteran: Bill Vallely, to recognize and support remarkable children from our shared community.
Members of the local community were formally recognized for voluntary commitment as Coaches for the youth flag football teams, the chosen sport for this years program. Marine Corps veteran Bill Valley (seen left) presented certificates of appreciation to each volunteer coach for their mentorship and support of the youth athletics program.
VRL member Christian Zamora (seen above, from left) addressed the participating families, highlighting the outstanding achievements of this year’s two scholarship recipients. He then presented each winner with an official certificate and a $5,000 scholarship award to support their educational goals.
Through this partnership, Veterans Rebuilding Life strengthens its commitment to supporting military and veteran families by investing in the next generation. Together, we can provide the encouragement, opportunities, and resources young people need to pursue their dreams with confidence and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.
