Quiet Events visited the Veterans Rebuilding Life headquarters in Astoria, Queens, where the event production company presented a generous contribution to support VRL’s humanitarian mission. Above, Client Success Manager of Events Sergio Fuquene presents a check for the proceeds from the company’s September 11th fundraiser, held at the Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria to support Veterans Rebuilding Life.
Quiet Events produces silent disco events and wireless headphone experiences nationwide, but it was founded in Astoria. New York in 2012. For CEO Will Petz, honoring the memory of September 11th meant taking action in his local community by supporting a veterans’ organization within it. Fuquene, a Navy veteran, shared this vision and identified VRL’s mission and work.
“We are especially excited about this event because it will also serve as a fundraiser in support of Veterans Rebuilding Life, a local nonprofit doing meaningful work helping those who have experienced the effects of war.” Fuquene wrote in announcing the event. “More than just an evening of celebration, we hope this event will be a beautiful celebration of life and remembrance, honoring those who have passed away and the memories, love, and impact they have left behind in our lives.”
Fuquene stayed to talk with staff about the work and the veterans who come to us for help. Contributions like this one fund VRL’s direct-impact services for veterans in need: emergency aid, employment assistance, and peer support. “It was truly our privilege to partner with Veterans Rebuilding Life, and we hope this contribution can make even a small difference in the important work you continue to do,” said Fuquene.
