Responding to food insecurity at home

Veterans Rebuilding Life mobilized a team of volunteers to deliver essential food supplies to local families enduring financial hardship, due to the prolonged quarantines economic impact on the local community.

VRL collaborated with: Hello Fresh, who donated fresh organic produce that was prepped-and-packaged by members from the New York State Division of Veteran Services, (NYSDVS). VRL volunteers transported the packaged food supplies to the Salvation Army’s: Astoria Corps community center, located in the borough of Queens, where the healthy, ready-made meals were distributed among local families suffering hardship.
