UKRAINE MISSION
Millions have fled the war in Ukraine. Neighboring countries have become overwhelmed with families seeking refuge.
In response, VRL volunteers helped to raise over $55,000 to cover the cost of humanitarian operations in Ukraine. With volunteers in Romania, Poland, and Ukraine, VRL collaborated with local charities to identify populations who are in the greatest need of assistance. VRL volunteers provide a range of humanitarian support services listed below:
SUPPORT SERVICES
Medical Aid
Emergency medical personnel with military experience provide ground transportation and medical services for people with disabilities and medical needs to leave Ukraine.
Cross-Border Cooperation
Our volunteers work with local NGOs to identify displaced persons in need of travel assistance, and provide direct assistance to those evacuating from Ukraine.
Transportation
Our remote team of volunteers connects displaced people with donors who contribute airline miles, hotel points, and cash to cover the costs of moving to a long-term destination.
Donations
Donations cover the following expenses:
• Airfare, accommodation and transport for displaced persons traveling to their final destinations.
• Long-term accommodation for displaced persons who have arrived at their final destinations.
• Operational costs for our own volunteers including accommodation, fuel, provisions, equipment and medical supplies
