Military Family Day
CORONA PARK BBQ EVENT | QUEENS, NYC
Thanks to Everyone Who Came Out to Make VRL’s First Annual Family Day Picnic & BBQ a Tremendous Success!
With your support, we exceeded the fundraising goal to support American Veterans returning from Afghanistan, by providing them with professional training in a variety of trades, to be followed by full-time employment opportunities in the civilian workforce through our new program: VET: Veteran Employment Training. The program is scheduled to launch this September and open to Veterans from all branches of service that deployed overseas in-support of combat operations. Because of the tremendous turnout at the event, we will be able to launch the VET program at no cost to those wishing to participate! See below for highlights of the event! Special thanks to Leroy William Hines; VRL’s Event Photographer for documenting the entire day and to Robert Shilling, our volunteer children’s entertainer, for putting on a blanket of fur in 90-degree heat, in order to do such an amazing job with the kids! This was the first of many VRL Family Day Events to come – we hope to see you all again next summer! Stay tuned for the September launch of the VET program to see your contributions and participation at work!
